1.6 vs 1.9 Carb's?

Does anyone know if there is a size difference between the 1.6 and 1.9 Weber's or are they both 32/36?

I have a video comparing them with the details in the description:

All the carbs are 32/32 or 32/34, in general:
The 32/32 are base 1.6 (VIN 2)
The 32/34 are 1.6 HO or 1.9 (VIN 4)
The 32/32 are also some times 1.9, I believe this is for the "fuel saver" models?

The telltale between the 1.6 & 1.9 carbs is that the 1.6 carbs always have 2 choke butterflies while the 1.9s always only have 1.

Interesting to see the three carbs.
The jets referred to in the video are the air bleeds, which regulate the amount of air entering the emulsion tubes to mix with the fuel coming up via the main jets in the fuel bowl. The HO carb has smaller air bleeds so that the mixture entering the booster (inner) venturis is richer, to compensate for the bigger main venturis.

Hmmm, is the plural venturis, or venturii?

In general yes definitely, a motorcycle, snowmobile, outboard, or garden tractor sitting for 3 or 4+ weeks without storage preparation is going to likely have clogged jets and/or stuck floats (but not always if the fuel is of higher quality and 2-stroke mixed fuel lasts YEARS because the oil extends the fuel life significantly) but with these Escort carbs I haven't had a single issue pulling any of my EXPs or Escorts out of Winter storage. All I do is put Stabil in the tank then drive it for 30+ minutes to make sure it mixes in the tank and fills the carb, then I yank my battery till Spring. Come out months later to hook up the battery and they all start like they do under normal operation - love it!

if you remove the junk electronic choke lol. Carbs get a bad rap, aside from electronic chokes and ethanol in our fuel they are not bad at all, sure you might have to adjust them from time to time but that's not hard at all.

Yeah I had one of those, oddly it was made by holley but was a webber. From what I found it was a rebranded webber made by holley.
Yeah damn electric choke lol They're pretty temperamental but to be fair it's an age thing more than anything, the coil gets rusty then doesn't want to work right and the connector & wire get oxidized too causing the same problem. Ditching the mechanical fuel pump is key too, with that you'll be cranking and cranking until the bowl fills so I get pretty spoiled with my electric pumps - turn the key and wait for the gentle "buzz" to change pitch then barely engage the starter and it's already running! Granted you need choke & a pump if it's cold enough out haha

I later got a few of those Holley/Weber carbs, like you say a bunch will say Holley where they say Weber/Weber Licensed and the barrel size on the side or say Holley on the fuel inlet like most Holleys even though they're obviously Webers to anyone familiar with Holleys haha If you look up Holley or Weber or Holley-Weber 740 you'll find these and they're all the same style - and I think 5740 is the one with the added kick-down diaphragm housing for A/C and Powersteering even though it can be added to the 740s no problem lol
