I know of one member that was trying to the GTX AWD setup on an Escort GT. He gave up because it was to much of a job. I think he would have ended up having to cut out the front frame rails and weld in GTX ones. The ZX2 will have the same problem but even more of a wiring hassle.

Yea i already checked out the thread and far as the wiring go its still hard but why couldn't i splice it be simpler yea? i understand theres alot of modifcations to be done but i think i can do it, may take sumtime but im sure i can. Other option is to upgrade the Z-tech engine in it right now? but i already have a front wheel drive escort with a ZE :), i got the ZX2 thinkin maybe an awd conversion? im going to work on it thanks for the input keep it coming and i know its going to take extensive modification... :?

Except for the fact that you are going to be using an engine that is totally different, ZX2=EDIS4, EGT=Distributor. ZX2=Returnless Fuel System, EGT=Return Fuel System. Basically you will have to take a complete AWD car and replace everything in the ZX2 that has to do with the motor, tranny, axles, ECM, Harnesses, etc. Then you start the fabrication. Thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of work for very minimal gain. Might as well just buy an STI or EVO X.

Or do a 351 or 302 RWD ZX2, those are pretty awesome, and if you carb them, a whole lot easier.
