    Is this normal?

If I'm driving my girlfriends car and I just blip the gas real quick the car feels super responsive. It jerks pretty aggressively sometimes if I'm not gentle when shifting or with the accelerator in general.

Sometimes when driving I feel like its difficult to drive smoothly because during shifts I occasionally don't make the engagement correctly or smoothly enough (I guess). Its the hardest car I've ever driven as far as making it feel smooth when driving and shifting every time.

Is this a characteristic of the car or is something out of whack?

Since I've gotten it I have done the following and its definitely more "jumpy" with the accelerator now than when I got it.

Keman intake with K&N air filter
    new Motorcraft spark plugs
    new ignition wires
    oil change (switched to synthetic)

Idk at what speeds you are describing this at, but this car lurches a lot more in 1st gear and even at low RPM in 2nd making it seem super responsive. A few other 4 cylinder cars I've driven are also like this.

I have an automatic, but i had driven the stick version. I can tell you in my car its quick to get going. I have had friends try to drive it and chirping the tires to just take off is common with them. This car just does not like to sit still.

its the car my cuzin had 2 of them both stick both with a new clutch and if you didnt know how to drive a clutch well it was very jumpy but if you do know how to drive a clutch well it is alotta fun just gotta easy with it at first because your not raceing every car at every light your not raceing just easy on the gas an ease out the clutch and let it slowly move or if tuned right let outta the clutch and let the car move itsself then hit the gas alittle bit.......still thinking of puting th 2.0 DOHC in my 1989 GT
