Well... I find that the Rear Striker Latch on the ZX2... has been moved over 5"... and up about 5".

Does anyone have a picture of a ZX2... inside, with Rear Seats folded down... so I can see what the Striker Latch assembly, now, looks like?

Better, yet... Has anyone modified their 2nd Gen for ZX2 Seats?

i don't think anyone has. i asked a similar question, and basically was told to go for it and try it out myself. (but instead, i found some GT seats and threw those in.)

    so, my suggestion to you:
if you've made all the measurments and says that they'll fit (except for the mounts), the mounrting is an easy fix. simply just drill in new holes for the mounts to go in.

and let us know how it turns out ;)

If you can find a 3000GT in your junkyard, the front seats are pretty close to the stock escort mounts, and the seats themselves are about as good as most racing seats out there. The rear seats could also be modded, and they're slick as sh*t to boot.

It's not the floor mounts (although all the bolts were seized)... it's just the "Striker Latch" thingie (U shaped) that inserts in the Seat Back, to hold them (which is release by the seat button/pull-tab). Some how they position it... way out... instead of a couple of inches off the side.

Does anyone have an ZX2... and can describe what there Back Seat Striker Latch Assembly look like??????????????

    Done

As it turns out: the 93 Wagon, with its SideStriker for the BackSeatLatch, is totally different from ZX2-SR.
So, I had a rear PackageShelf cut out of a ZX2, had [the part which contains the Strikers and forms a Rear Tower Strut Bar] cut from that [and re-welded, as the support welds were in the wrong place on PackageShelf]... and had this installed. Over the FrontSide of Bar, I placed a SedanCover [Black Plastic; F8CZ 54466B68 AAD]... and attached Snaps, top & bottom, then installed a MediumPrairieTanLeather Cover (purchased in yardage, and I installed Snaps as cut to size), to go over the other 3 sides, attaching it to the SedanCover and to the CargoSideTrims [which had to cut to accomidate the Rear Tower Strut Bar.
Then, I found that the RearSeatCushion (Bottom), was changed from PostStikers to UshapedStrikers... so, I had to replace the 2 Latches [X54Z 58613T82 AA] in the FloorSeatPlatform.
I also had to cut... the bottom of the SideMounts of the CargoCover [a NOS 1999 MediumPraireTan]... up to the edge of the 2 RubberCoveredInserts (nipples)... because it mounts on top of the RearTowerStrutBar and also inserts into CargoSideTrims.
    Job Done:
-- I now have 1999 ZX-2 S/R (Limited Edition [200], Leather Option [10]) Medium Prairie Tan Seats... in my 1993 (Twilight Blue) Wagon.
    :D

Trust me... follow the instructions... and you too can have leather 1999 (10 of 200) ZX2 S/R seats... if you can find them (good luck).

Here's your invitation: come and see it. I really have no need for a camera... especially to snap something that I see every day, or to show to the farmers in a town of 500. The car is just for my whims; The tips upon modification are for anyone.
