That doesn't answer my question I want to know what kind of modifications that it takes to fit. I know what it cost to get custom exhaust done and I was just wondering about the extent of the modifications that installing a zx2 catback on a spi escort would require.

The ZX2 cat backs will work actually, it just comes up a little short....
not going for sound. that is why I am asking about zx2 catbacks. I am modding the motor and need more flow on the exhale.

how short and where.. If it is the back that is fine because I don't like the hang out past the bumper look anyway..

I honestly dont remember how short, but I would rather have a zx2 catback then a "custom" exhaust

the catbacks are more than likely somewhat tuned on a dyno, and probably feature a resonator to create back pressure in the middle.....as where just having 2.5 back to a can would more than likely loose power until you hit 5k plus which for an spi doesnt leave you much to go

so i think you know what your doing , I just had to school these playas a lil on NA performance

Yeah just who are you trying to school cause you don't even have good info. You should do some more research before you try to "school" people. I have done hours upon hours of exhaust research if you want I can post links to some really good information that will prove most of what you said wrong.

To all the of you who said a ZX2 catback would not fit on an spi without modifacation. I would just like to say that you are all very very wrong. We installed one on a 97 spi without any modifacation and I have to say it went on easier then anything I have ever done. I will have to admit that the tip may sit under the car a couple inches but it actually looks rather nice where it is sitting. And for those of you that don't believe that we did there will be pictures comming soon just to prove it can be done and that it works great. And surprisingly it made a huge difference in power, I have had exhaust systems done before and usually you might notice a tiny difference in power but I have to admit that i wasn't expecting much gain but the car is a whole lot peppier through out the powerband its far worth the money. It also sounds pretty decent and is actually really quite unless your whailing on it then she screams a bit.

Got a dyno sheet to back that up? Human perception is the least accurate dyno there is.

You aren't going to get significant gains by swapping out anything behind the cat on any car.

How about the fact that it is about 5 miles an hour faster in the 1/4 mile, does that prove that there was a decent increase in power? or do you want more?
