Does the ZX2 have all wheel disc brakes? Do only some of the ZX2's have all wheel disc brakes?

the sr zx2 models came with 4 wheel disc. its basically escort gt rear brakes, they will swap over! except if you have abs, you might have ot leave it out1

If you have ABS you just swap the rear disks from an EGT that has ABS...which is very rare

the GT I got some of my rear disk parts from had ABS..Ussually will be later models 94+

Um... ABS is just a control solenoid thingy mounted in seried with the brake lines, usually located around the master cylinder. With or without it, the brakes shoud be the same.

What you may have to worry about is the proportioning valve being different on your car. If you're in doubt, you can swap over the master cylinder and bolt it up to the brake booster diaphragm.

If you are looking to put rear disks on a zx2 find a gt and the whole rear assemble bolts right in. Actually pretty darn simple. The only thing I would do would be to change the proportioning valve. the thing to do would be steal one from the gt. The front brakes are the same on the gt and the zx2 so all is well. Don't know why for went back to drums in the rear for the zx2.

ALSO THERE IS A SPACER ON THE GT REAR BRAKES, AT I THINK THE LOWER BOLT. DONT FORGET IT.

Maybe because ford realizes that 99% of their customer demographic wouldn't notice or even know the difference?

That and the drum assemblies cost $5.00 less then the Disk assembly. Make 100,00 vehicles and Ford made $500,000 extra by just using something most people do not care about.
