I know I am gona half to swap a lot, but will it bolt??? and will my halteck work with it? Jeff you might know
Whatta ya mean, "might know"?sportscort93 said:Jeff you might know
So as I said, it's not a direct bolt in. :wink:Jeffescortlx said:Actully yes, a Zetec will bolt in. The Zx2 has the same engine bay and mount location as the 91-96 and 97+ sedans.
It would be best to get a complete Zx2 for the motor, tranny, computer harness, fuel pump, maybe the dash to.
But sine your gonna use a standanlone you'll just need the motor/tranny. You could use the 1.9 tranny if you drill the flywheel bolt holes, but you'll need to add a crank trigger.
I agree, there's no custom parts or welding required, I'd call that a bolt in.aliennation95gt said:in theory it is a direct bolt in, no welding or custom fabrication,it all bolts in. same chassis
Yes it is, it does "bolt in".James92Scort said:So as I said, it's not a direct bolt in.
I wouldn't call that a direct bolt in.You could use the 1.9 tranny if you drill the flywheel bolt holes, but you'll need to add a crank trigger.
Using the 1.9 tranny (requiring it to be drilled) is just an option. With the use of the Zx2 tranny there is no drilling, welding, cuting or grinding. It's just a matter of unbolting and installing. I'd call that a bolt in.James92Scort said:Ok perhaps your idea of direct bolt in and my idea of direct bolt in are two different concepts here.
When the SPI motors drops in and you don't have to do work such as this:
