I wasn't aware that they were placing sequential shift manual transmissions in normal passenger vehicles. Is that what you're saying @austin86 ? My motorcycle has clutchless shift capability on a sequential shift manual trans, but you still have to neutralize pressure between engine/trans before it'll let you shift. Too much or too little throttle and there's too much pressure to allow a gear change. I actually discovered the sequential shift by accident after some weeks or month(s) of ownership.

My 2016 Fiesta ST doesn't have clutchless shift. (none of the ST do that I'm aware)

Not quite. It will not lot you go into gear until the RPMs line up. So if you sift from 1st to 2nd you can try as hard as you can to jam it into 2nd without the clutch. But it just will not let you until the RMPs line up. You can down shift the same way too, but you have to rev up in neutral first. I do not recommend it as I'm sure its hard on the car, but some times no knee gives me fits and I don't want to deal with the non power clutch pedal.

Assuming it's like the Fiesta ST**, just be aware that they're using a cable between the shifter and transmission. The Escort uses a shift ROD, instead of a cable. Personally I would've preferred the more durable rod.

**(not the much later introduced "ST Line", which has the suspension and drivetrain of the regular Fiesta)

Yes, I think Audi did that for a while, did Ford ever do anything like that?

Don't know. Seems like Ford has always been too cost conscious... at least in the States. Maybe one of their super cars like the GT perhaps.

Ford has used 2 plugs per cylinder before and still does. Off the top of my head, the 2.3L they used in the 90's Rangers and fox body Mustangs had 8 spark plugs. The current 6.2L V8 used in the Super Duty pickups and Raptor has 16 plugs. Dodge also uses 16 plugs in the new Hemi V8s

I guess that's one way to change the tire on a bread truck.

The car driver learned not to brake-check a truck.
