    This is what I was told (and yes I asked):
    12 years old, with 190K on it. Had a leak and kept adding refrigerant for years. The refrigerant oil attracted dirt and created a hard layer of dirt. Greatly impeded airflow.

    Okay, here's a couple from one of my own vehicles from just a few days ago. I took the pan off due to no oil pressure. Nothing came out of the drain until I poked around with a wire:

    The pickup was buried in the sludge, which was about 5/8" deep. This is from a free engine I put in the little pickup a few years ago that ran fine until last week.
