Impressive, but Autolites and Champion plugs work great in these cars, and you most likely don't have to worry about them being counterfeit.

Interestingly on the wagon with those three bad plugs, two had the center electrodes worn off completely, two did not. I believe that is due to two of the plugs having "reverse polarity" as a result of the way the EDIS ignition system works.
I have read that when new, Ford put in two different type plugs in these engines. Two had the platinum on the center electrode, two had it on the ground, to ameliorate this issue.

Regarding makes of spark plugs, I have found that all the brands I have used work fine, I pick them up at swap meets etc. for cheap and throw them in.
Sometimes when I'd have misfiring or rough running I would swap out the plugs (but save them) however I would eventually find the problem to always be something else.

I also regap my spark plugs until they seem even to me to be thoroughly used up.

Next to no one does this, unfortunately. I wanted to do this with the motorcycle but it badly fouled them and un-fouling them is deceptively hard. So I just bought a new set. Then again, I supposed I could just try scraping the ignition surfaces... just tiny parts of the electrodes.... it's not like I have to clean the WHOLE frick'n plug like every video does.

Was it a two stroke motorcycle? Apparently it's quite hard to get the spark plugs to fire right once they've been fouled. I've loosened the plug boot to make an extra gap which will often get a stubborn two stroke to fire again.

I used to glass bead plugs a fair bit, but modern cars don't seem to foul them, rather they just wear out after a very long time.

I suspect it's only hard to get them to fire right because folks need to address the conditionssss that created the problem in the first place. Once that's done, the engine itself will cleanup the remaining non-ignition surfaces. If the plugs are fouled, then the rest of the cylinder likely has some build-up as well. It's a four stroke racing engine.

Well I just wasted ten minutes watching eccentric Russians crudely fit 13" wheels and tires on a Hummer.
I guess there's dumber stuff out there.

Lately Mr. Dumber Stuff has been on TV every weekday giving campaign speeches disguised as Corona Virus Briefings.
At least he is up fount and out in the open when it comes to his miss doings. Something you really can say about other folks in politics who do dirty crap behind closed doors and try to hide there miss doings and what not.

That a Cosworth from over the pond?
Yeah, but its not quite a escort if I recall, but a sierra, think xr4ti merkur.
