Well, you can't blame the secretary. Her ability to take dictation was perfect.

That one looks pretty good. Usually the tools that end up in tires are old, rusty shit.

Learning to weld and blend. Not great but not as horrible as expected. Haha

Make sure the metal is really clean. No grease, dirt, paint, or especially plating. That stuff reaks havoc on a weld. Are you MIG welding?

1 running Ford out of 5 isn't bad, right?

Speaking of grease. I just went to grease the S-10's front end and all but one boot broke.

Already have upper and lower control arms with ball joints. Looks like I need to get tie rods too and install it all ASAP.

    Sigh.

And the Navigator rockers aren't even done yet.

This bullshit is why I'm done with older stuff. It piles up and gets overwhelming when you work 60+ hours a week.

Omar Zerke (who invented the improved type of grease fittings) is probably spinning in his grave.

I liked the old Alemite bayonet type fittings that were on my Packards. At the mine where I worked, we used a newer type Alemite button fitting in a couple different sizes. Both the button and the old bayonet type fittings have the benefit of positive connection, so that you have free use of both hands to pump the grease gun. The zerk couplers are supposed to bite the fitting using grease pressure to tighten the coupling, but its often not reliable.
