Well Im sure it had high idle because it had sat for a couple weeks. IDK if anyone would consider Engine speeds of 1100RPM's high idle? Im not 100% sure what that "throttle needle" looking screw on the top of the throttle body does?

I have intetionally raised my idle to 1100 because is runs smoother there and I have the light flywheel and it helps. You can get the idle to change with the set screw on the throttle body, mine still has the rubber plug. I origanlly raised the idle to combat my low RPM bog issue with the K code hybrid VAM. With proper adjustments and a light advance in timing, it runs great and I left idle alone becaue it starts sooner and idles smoother at 1100 RPMs.

The K code VAM is a Vane Airflow Meter from a 88-92 Probe, 626, MX6. If you remove the circuit board from the K code with your, or another. stock U code VAM from the GT/Protege LX. You put in the guts from the U code, put in the K code, and re-tune. The K code has a 3" output compared to the 2.5" of the U code. The VAM upgrade helps with the mid-to-high RPM range. My GT screams above 3500 RPM(also have the light flywheel from Fidanza, which helps).

I did the K doce Hybrid VAM and didn't want the intake to bottle-neck at all with the 3" intake pipe I have, so I modded the stock Heimholtz box (resonance chamber good for about 3 ftlbs of torque).
