Quack you Qanadians
Won by the team represented by the most Canadians in the league
Nice to see Teemu win a cup.
LOL, yea, but they pay them more to play for them.
Side story, the IT manager of the Ducks had called me at work hoping to get some sponsorship/computers and I told him I hope the Ducks beat San Jose (during the season) since they beat the Av's. I also said I hope since the Av's were knocked out of the playoffs that the Ducks win the Stanley Cup. Man I hope he calls me back so I can be giddy for the rest of this excessively slow week.
I take offense to that. My Leafs have been overpaying players as long as I can remember!! Just today, Nik Antropov got a 2yr/$4Mil deal. Don't even get me started on McCabe!
That really isn't very much $$$ compared to every other professional sport out there. Which is why I like hockey.
Unfortunately, I'm a Wings fan, so it kind of hurts that the Ducks made it instead of the Wings.. because I'm sure the Wings would have man-handled the Senators(albeit in a much different way). On the plus side, one of the Ducks players(Chris Kunitz) went to school in the city I work in(Big Rapids, he went to Ferris State) and always came into my place of employment to party. So there is a VERY remote chance that I could touch the Cup
Qwakers Qwakers, your our guys!
You can win with open Flys!
Yeah! J-S Giguère all the way!!!
Anyway, I'm a AVS fan but the weren't there this year, so normaly, I would stay with the canadian team...but this year its different...Giggy is one of my fav goalie and I hate Bryan Murray, so...
To bad I miss the 3 last game because I was at work...
Giguere's gonna get such a huge contract from this year it's sick.
A Canadian team hasn't won the cup since the Canadiens won it in 93. Damn! 8O
I find it appalling that hockey was relegated to afternoon games on the weekends during the playoffs because 4 times as many Americans would rather watch horse racing than the Stanley Cup playoffs.
For shame! Bury your heads in the sand, you damn yanks! Hockey belongs on prime time. I don't feel right drinking beer at 2:30 in the afternoon on Sundays! You guys can even find a way to ruin a guy's drinking habit.
I'm from Jersey and I don't like it any more than you do. Hockey is my favorite sport to watch, both in person and on TV... lucky I get Vs. as well as NBC, especially when the one game went into OT and those a$$holes moved the broadcast. That was the most appalling move IMO. That would never have happened in the NFL or even the NBA.
Unfortunately, a lot of Americans that watch hockey are the "fair weather" fan type, and cease all spectatorship when their local team is eliminated.
No one would watch it since NASCAR is on at that time, and yes, I'd try to watch both.
Yep we're definately homers here in the states.
