Nasty Nate, as you mentioned E-Bay has new adapters for sale really cheap. I know you said you can't wait for shipping but you asked this question 2 days ago. If you had just gone to E-bay and ordered it you would probably be getting it as early as Saturday. The way it stands now, you might not even find out what car has the adapter until....Christmas. Sounds like the best thing for you to do is to get one from E-Bay and wait the 3 days it might take to get to you. Are you selling the car yourself? If so, put it up for sale, advertise that you will be putting the cone filter on it, and then when the part comes in, bolt it up.

.. since you can't find it at the junkyard, i found out a few days ago that autozone has black plastic ones in stock for about $5, and chrome one's for about $20.

i made my own. I got a piece of scrap plexiglass from the hardware store for free. Then i just made a template with a piece of paper to how it had to be cut and did just that. I bought a 2" section of pipe i don't remember the diameter but it is obvious when you are doing the job. THen i proceeded to jb weld the two toghether. (i love jb weld!) after a paint job it looked as good as a mass produced one. total it cost $3-$4 and took about an hour.

this is a really stupid question you asked, and you got a whole lot of stupid useless answers. I got mine, I don't have a 1.8L but when I went to get one for my 1.9L Ithe guy gave me the worng one, no prob. I went back and he gave me the right one, the one you need have 4 round holes, the 1.9L adapter has 4 oval type holes, you can tell the difference. I don't live in the US. but ANY performance store will have it but it will cost you about 20 bucks, mine cost 25 Cdn with no TAX. even pep boys should have it, just go in and ask for an air intake adapter, for a cone filter. I hope this helps, because the others didn't know what they were talking about.

you guys will never get it huh? why would you buy things over the net !!! build your own adapter...the only thing you need is a piece of 2,5 inch (diameter) aluminium tubing with a square 4x4 inch sheet of aluminium that you'll have to shape on some grinding stone and drill 4 holes in it ..and then weld it together...voilà!!! cost : 2 $ :)

well..ok if you don't have a welder....its 602 $ :)

ehehehhehe i could build some for you if you want ahahah :)

go to autozone and ask them for some maf's, figure out which one you need and buy it. I have no clue. sorry.
I meant maf (vaf) adaptor, sorry...But I told him basically the same thing you did, only I used Autozone, not Pepboys. why? because I don't know as I've never looked for an adaptor.

and that $2 is canadian money right? What's that like $200+ American? not to mention getting a welder...yeah It's easier to spend 20 bucks on a pre made adaptor.
