I beat 2 monte carlos tonight (the reaper one too: nuke), 2 sunfire gt´s(the red one with yellow hood scoops: nuke), a purply blue grand am, a buick regal, a dodge neon sport(ashtyns, lol: nuke), a geo metro, an astro van, an old comet, a kia rio rx-v or w/e it is, another mx-3, a cavalier(kolbows, she wasn´t happy, lol: nuke), 3 chev half tons, a dodge 2500, a dodge 3500 diesel, lol, a red mustang GT, a white mustang LX, an old yellow mustang(moores: nuke), an old red mustang(that sweet looking one, but I guess its not fast :-? )... and a whole bunch of other shitty cars , lol... yes... I truly didn´t think my car would win half of these races, especially against the reaper monte carlo, the grand am, the mustang gt/old red, and the geo metro, I MEAN NO, lol. yes I am tired good bye, lol.

u NO a kill is usually when they KINDA put up a fight, so im sure a dodge 3500 diesel probably didnt put up much of a fight, or any at all, but yeah, ive encountered most of those cars in my days, they think there fast, but there not all that, the hardest thing is giving it as much gas u can with spinning the tires on the iceyness. Congrats on the reaper kill tho, that guy is always flyin, rear wheel drive tho he prolly had a hard time gettin goin... maybe some night ill encounter you at night and give YOU a run for your money :-D

I´d believe him beating the Sunfire GT´s. They might have 150 ponies but they´re also pretty heavy for the size. Plus they have a high % power loss going through the drivetrain. I´ve never had a problem taking Cavalier Z24´s or Sunfire GT´s, except one Z24 that was dolled up in RKSport parts so I imagine he was packing non-standard equipment.

Kinda got pissed today. I saw a lady in a beautiful black 94-96 EGT get dissed on by a kid in a riced Eclipse. She was in the right lane, not at all interested in racing, when this kid jumps in behind her, revs it, moves to pass, hangs by her left and then guns it and jumps right in front of her and takes off. No point to it. This was a Eclipse RS so she could have given him some competition if she´d wanted to. This GT looked like it was off a showroom floor too-fresh wash, wax, hell the wheels looked brand new too. It was quite a looker.

2000-up sunfires and the brand new Cavaliers are in fact slightly faster than 2nd gen EGTs and even manual ZX2s, but it´s right around a half second or so, so it would be up to who gets the jump off the light first. I´ve never had a problem with a Neon or a Cavalier.

omg stop with the wing disses, its beautiful, and once its summer I will show u, lol...
yes the monte carlos were old ones, but one seems to have alot done to it...
sunfire gt´s aern´t so great, they don´t have the gear ratios, I don´t think these guys had a clue how to drive either.
I´m not sure about the gran am, looked like on older model mid 90´s or so.
The buick wasn´t a GS but it isn´t stock either
and yes the astro van gave a shit, lol. It was one of my friends driving their parents van... lmao.
The guy in the other mx-3 can drive extremely well actually, its just that hes a pussy, lol... I think nuke knows who I´m talkin about.
It was a Cavalier Z24 which is the EXACT same as a Sunfire GT, this one was automatic, but its all the same ;-)
Man James if you came to our town you would probably see some pretty dam fast half tons, pure hicks around here.
The mustangs were the older 5.0 ones, but last night I got my ass handed to me by one.
Yeah I know the old lx mustangs are easy prey but he wanted to race anyways, lol.
The old yellow mustang only has 100 horsepower, lol
The red one has a badge of a cobra on the front(I was checking it out last night), couldn´t see what it said on the back, I donno. :-?

Amen to eclipse rs´s being slow, what a waste of time to supe up, just sell it and save up a bit more for a tsi talon or eclipse GSX.

The cavalier and sunfire don´t have the same horsepower that is advertised.. wanna know how I know? I work at a car lot that sells all gm, and the manager was telling me about how they lie about the horsepower in smaller economy vehicles... plus the sunfire and cavalier and indeed heavier and the gear ratios are horrible for racing, but good for on the highway. EX: my Mx-3 goin down the highway at 100 kph(60mph) is revving at 3000 rpm... a cavalier is just under the 2 grand mark.
I admit the neon had me off the line cause I had some tire spin, lol.. but I was 2 car lengths ahead of him in second gear.

The older body Z24s have 140-150 hp and 180 lb ft torque from what I´ve read, and use a 3.1 V6. The new sunfire GTs use a 2.4L I4 with 140 hp.

the cavy´s were new ones... and adam why can´t I have two jobs? lol, my job at the car lot has SUCH flexible hours its sweet and the pay is amazing, I just like working with the people at liquidation world, even though they are retards, it makes me feel like a king, lol.

The next time I hear someone claim to have beaten any V-8 car that was running properly (like gt mustangs, come on people) in a car with no serious mods, I will wave the BS flag as hard as I can. Putting in a K&N filter, gutting the airbox, putting on an intake, and some cat back exhaust are not going to allow you to blow these cars out of the water. No stock Escort LX, GT, or ZX2 can run with any V-8 mustang. Not to put down an escort, but horsepower is horsepower, and the V-8 mustang will beat you every time. The above also goes for the V-8 camaro and firebird. So remember, if it says GT or SS on the side, and you win, your either have a fast car, or they let you go. Just my rant for the day. These four bangers are fun, but you have to do some engine work to get the power plain and simple.

yeah man i have two more pistons LMAO, dude the old ford mustangs aern´t all that, especially the 5.0l carb version of the 80´s. The fuel injected ones are quite a bit faster though... but thats why i have a fast corvette. Nuke have you seen that black ss camaro in town with the spoiler? Its got alot of other performance shit on it too and he wants to race my vette, I think it will be interesting. :cool:

let me find a stock 5.0l mustang with a carb and you bring your mx3 and we will see who´s got more. I don´t want to hear about this nonsense of v-8 mustangs camaros and firebirds getting toasted by 4 and 6 cylinder new age stuff with a cold air intake and set of 18 inch wheels. hell you´d put up a better fight without the parachu.. I mean wing. we all need to step back and look at things for a moment, a stock v-8 in a mustang camaro or firebird will beat a stock v-6 or 4 banger in any mazda, ford, mercury, chevy, or dodge. hate to sound like an prick, but horsepower is horespower and torque is torque. and thats were the race is won.

Simply put, horsepower isn´t everything. In my eyes the deciding factors start with weight, torque, horsepower, RPM capabilities, and last but not least, driver skill. Horsepower doesn´t win street races, torque does.
I´ve seen and read about 1.8L Lotus Elise 190s taking out SVT Cobra R´s. Not by much, but the 1.8 won. How you may ask? weight. the Lotus weighed in at like 1700 lbs while the Cobra R weighs roughly 3500 lbs with it´s big ass 5.4L Triton V8.

Now talking to you on the phone earlier today birddog, I know you´re all about the brute force of an engine, and myself... I´m a Brute-force kind of person too. if you ever played Command & Conquer Red alert with me, you´ll know what i mean when i come at you with tanks gallore.

If I could have a Z28 I would. but I´m building my Escort 1.8 to take on supercharged 3.8s and even Mustang 4.6s. It´s feasible, if properly tuned.

bird dog I thought you were more knowledgable than this... old V8 mustangs are and always will be pieces of shit, you greatly over estimate old V8 engines, there are tons of variables as well such as drivetrain loss, etc. V8´s aern´t they greatest things ever. They can´t rev high, they run dirty, very little horsepower for how much displacement. The list goes on and on why the stock V8 stang is a piece of shit. I have seen some nicely modified ones but thats only after a complete rebuild and/or a supercharger.

hence why my LX can beat an old 1980 turbo trans am (auto tranny) until about 70kph (then red light ahead). given the thing was just a dog, the turbo is probably shot because you can´t even hear it, it´s just stored in a garage all year round, the engine has an inch thick layer of dust etc etc...but hey i still beat it with 88 hp!
