That story is unbelievable. Like... I seriously CAN NOT believe it.

On the other hand, a couple of skanky teenage whores at the trailer park kicked rocks at my 3000GT this afternoon, and tommorrow I'm calling the cops. Potsdam sucks. Don't EVER move upstate. The only thing up here is a bunch of uneducated ******** who live on welfare and drink busch beer. I could keep ranting, but I passionately hate the majority of the people who live up here. I hope this whole goddamn place burns down and takes everybody with it.

And who says that we don't have extra emoticons? It's called image hotlinking...

that nightmare is so terrible, even i don't think that anyone can even dream of something so horrible.

suby, or not, that mechanic deserves a near-death beating by the vehicle owner.

I'm sorry! I'm not really a traitor.. I'm just a Subaru lover at heart!

Seriously though, the North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club (NASIOC) board is full of car enthusiasts. You'll see owners of all types of cars there. It's one of the premier car forums in the world with 58, 476 members as of my typing this. There are some very mature, knowledgable and curious posters there, including some pro roadrace and rally drivers.

I invite anyone who loves cars to join NASIOC. If you get booted by a mod for being a tool, don't tell them I sent you :p Either way, don't forget that FEOA is your home :D

There is a running gag about how Ford Escort owners are the most likely (after SUVs) to put dents in their Subarus in parking lots. If you see any such comments, take it in stride. Also, be sure to check out the OT forum if you're a post whore. Posts in their OT forum don't count towards your post count, and the threads there are always crazy.

I joined up over there too a while back, when one of the guys there was being stalked, some of those guys are great, I did the same at the Avenger Car club that SittinLo joined after he left his escort. You'll find all kinds of drivers and car enthusiasts at all these boards. It's nice to be able to talk to others about their cars and see that not every person on this earth ia a close minded anti-Escort bastard. Yeah, well, The story won't come up for me, but I'll assume this mechanic was trying to be very shady.

I <3 upstate NY, Siragan. For $100,000 where I live right now (near Pittsburgh but in the suburbs) you get a 2 bedroom townhouse and for $200,000 you get a 4 bedroom house in a descent neighborhood with 1/4 acre. My friend, who lives in Cuba NY near Olean (not exactly upstate, but the same kind of place) has a $150,000 house with 4 bedrooms, 2 car garage, and a huge basement where they have a very nice shop. They also have their own lake as well as 10 acres. Also, upstate NY has RPI as well as RIT. 2 of the finer technical universities in the country. I wouldn't be too quick to denounce upstate NY :)

That is just so insane! And at this moment I can really feel that persons pain, but it really puts my situation on the bottom rung in terms of bad. A mechanic didn't tighten my pulley bolts two months ago after replacing the water pump. We had to replace the pulley and the thermostat after it broke. I would love to tell you all the name of the shop because it is a well known company, but I'm new and don't know the rules of this site. If I can tell you all let me know LOL! Anyhow we have requested $125 for the parts and labor of my dad and I having to replace that stuff. They only want to give 50. I have given this company a total of $800 in the last six months. My dad intends now to take them to small claims. Most of these mechanic places and mechanics are just enough to turn your stomach! I just really don't understand. I for one will never have anyone else work on my car just so my dad doesn't have to. In the end he just has redo everything they did anyway. It's such crap.

I don't think there is a problem telling the name of a bad reapir shop, but let's just test my Theory...

I went ot Fritts Ford located in Riverside CA, just off the 91 at Auto Center Drive. I took the car in because the engine would not start, it turned over, and hummed, but no ignition. well, after a week the car was repaired and returned to me... (they said my timing had jumped 180 deg. My thought was "how the hell would it do that while driving on the street at idle?") the repair cost me about $720 total.

However, when I recieved my car back the following items were not functioning: Tachometer, Temp Gauge, Seatbelts, Turn Signals, and Emergency Flashers. I returned the car two days later after infroming the dealership immediately, they assured me that everything they had touched was put back correctly and even had the fuses double checked before I left. Well, when I brought the car back in they found tha ta fuse was missing and proceeded to tell me that I had to have pulled it out because it was there when the mechanic touched the car... (I never touched fuses to replace my fuel pump, which was all I had done) and then replaced the fuse free of charge (by taking my spare one and putting it in)

That would have been fine and dandy and I would have been a happy camper had I not returned home to look at the front of my car t ofind the Ford Emblem had been stripped off the front... By the dealership as it had been on the car the day befor ewhen I dropped the Scort off.

In short, Never go to Fritts Ford.

Let's see what happens ot this post shall we Kim, then feel free to make your decision.

Thanks for the experimental post misfit :) I can't believe they took your ford emblem! The other stuff was even worse but that's just...just...just somethin lol. I'm actually going to be going to court now with the place that touched my car. Should be fun. I also learned at the junkyard when I was getting parts to fix their repairs (sad) that you can file these types of things with the secretary of state and it can actually have an effect in some cases. A lot of places will get shut down from a file on them like that...you can bet I'll be filing lol!
