was talking to my car dealer today , when I picked up my car after it was repainted from the vandalizm of a week ago , and he made a suggestion in regards to horsepower for scorts . talk had turned briefly to swapping a Mazda 6 cyl into an escort when he suggested instead using a mazda rotary . the thought is interresting ,but will it work ? can anyone who has enough knowledge work out whether it would go . he was talking lots of ponies to the ground with this install. I just want to know if he`s full of prunes or what. I`m not mechanically inclined enough to do it on my own so i turn to you FEOA . oh yes something else i`d like to see if someone cares to humour an old man 2nd or 3rd gen escort stretched limo styling . don`t imagine it`s practical but as a styling exercize it might be fun .. by the way this isn`t as far fetched as it may sound , just not physically practical . let me know what you folks come up with . thanks :)

EZH not the Green Hornet , but she`s still a Black Beauty 2002 Escort S E black

As I always say ANYTHING is possable with a car if you have the money. I believe a roary would fit nicely into the hood of a scort, problem is converting to RWD. I don´t know if Mazda Made an FWD rotary powered car so an RWD conversion would probably have to be done. But hell I would want to do it anyway, go all out if your gonna do it.

As far as the Limo bit goes, HA HA that would be awsome. probably pretty easy too with FWD. I saw a Super long Navigator the other day and I looked underneath it and counted somewhere around 10 driveshafts. I was like WHOA. FWD seems more practical for stretching in my opinion. Would definaly clear up the leg room prob for the rear passengers. Oughta stretch the GT and keep it a 2 door so the passengers still have to climb behind the back seat, ha ha. might need to put a bit of a raise on it though to clear the speed bumps.

You´d probably have to fabricate custom driveshafts and motor/transmission mounts. I´m not sure just how big a rotary is, but I´m sure it´s small enough to fit under the Escort hood...being 1.3L and all. (unless you use the 4 stroke method then it can mathmatically come out to 2.6L.) ;-)
