On some fuel injected cars, the WOT switch will also turn the injectors off - if the engine is not yet running. This was to clear a 'flooded' condition.
A thing I learned when I had an l.e.d. light connected across my fuel injectors, is that the injectors get a 'pulse' each time you turn the ignition key to 'on', even if you dont start it. So cycling the key on-off-on-off enough times will dump more fuel into the intake manifold.
