Josh:

A few words of warning - soak the cross-member nuts/bolt threads on the existing cross-member generously in penetrating oil before trying to remove them. The front ones have a round head on the side you can't see. If you strip the tack weld, you're looking at some creative drilling and torch/grinder work and then finding a suitable pair of replacement bolts  . If you're forced to use a grinder/torch, you'll kill the rubber bushings too.

thanks for the tip. I'm not changing it though, the shop thats going to straighten the frame is. All I have to do is find the part, set up the appointment, and pay them.

You're paying a shop to undo 8 bolts, replace a damaged part, and re-install 8 bolts :? Are you having any other work done to the car?

Floor jack + Saturday afternoon = fixed Escort.
