Because the Cavalier and Sunfire are built on the same J-body frame and they both also use the same 2.2L ECOTEC engine, along with the same transmission. That´s why it´s the same car. look it up. ;-)

They´re both subsidiaries of General Motors. You can have your opinion. Goddamn why is everyone so hostile? I was just stating the fact that the Sunfire and Cavalier are the same car, which to me makes them both ugly as hell. Everyone´s gotta jump all down my fucking throat for no reason.

I´m not a fan of GM products in any shape or form... I´m dissapointed that GM and Toyota have shared interests and I´m very dissapointed that GM owns 20% of Subaru. Maybe they´ll learn from these more advanced Japanese companies.. or maybe they homologate them into the rest of crappy GM brand mangagement. GM hasn´t gotten a thing right about any of their cars in the past 30 years.. but that´s just IMHO :-]

The Cavalier is sold in Japan as a Toyota.

The Pontiac Vibe is a Toyota Matrix with Pontiac´s usual nasty looking urethane draped over it. It´s a sure sign of things to come.

I believe the new motor.. (ecotech is it?) is a joint venture between Toyota and GM. Good for GM, bad for Toyota.

more so than complaining about it, you make more of a point to the manufacturer if you simply refuse to purchase the damn thing. that hurts them more than anything.
