Did you buy it new? or did you buy it when it was used and only semi new? I bought my 92 in 2001 so it´s pretty much depreciated in value enough that i got it for under 2000 dollars, but total I´ve probably put somewhere around 6500 to 7000 dollars in it.

I bought it with 19,000 on the clock. It had been a dealers kid´s car. Probably why I had to put a clutch in it at 75,000

Hey! Congrats on making that final payment! Yeah, that feeling of freedom really rocks! What other mods are you thinking of, beyond the custom upholstery?
Also, did your custom exhaust and header eliminate the cat? We can´t do that in PA, we have emmissions testing every year.
Btw 75,000 miles seems like a pretty long life for a clutch to me.

As far as future mods I´ve got a pretty long list. Coming soon is a short shifter and some more suspension mods. I haven´t updated my Cardomain site recently, but I already have added a rear swaybar from a 95 wagon. I plan to add a set of Sprint -2 springs and a set of Tokico S/R struts in the near future. I also plan on upgrading the bushings (Sway bar and Front control arm) to Poly. Springtime will bring a motor swap, still deciding on what to swap in. I plan to relocate the radio antenna and replace it with an antenna from a newer VW. I plan on swapping to GT bumpers and sides, and I´m looking for a set of the rare late model GT wheels. Plus I reserve the right to add to this list as time goes by..

As far as the exhaust system goes. I did not remove the cat. I relocated to a hiflo cat underneath the car.

Sounds great, man! Engine swap and all, huh? Cool. Can´t wait to see it. My 94´s pretty much the same car, so I reserve the right to borrow some of your ideas when/if I get to moddin it.
Where dya get a hiflo cat, and will it still pass emissions tests with that? Will it work with a cat-back system?
Ever think of clear corners and tails? Heard from someone that the tails will be out in the spring. Would look great on your car!
Keep the LX grille too, with the GT bumper. That´ll be cool.

You can pick the cat up from any performance parts place. You just have to know what length and pipe O/D you want. It shouldn´t mess with your emissions. If you buy a pre-fabbed cat back system for the escort it is built for the original cat up under the exhaust manny. It would work, but it might require a bit of "adjusting."
As far as clear corners and tails... I plan on going with clear corners, but I think Rob(ZXTuner) is out for now. I am also waiting to see what his tails will look like. I actually have a different plan for the grill in the future.. I´m not releasing this one yet..
