I am trying to find a set of tires that will fit onto my 92 egt. I cant find a gt in the junk yard with tires and since the ones that are on the lx´s dont fit i was wondering what other cars would have stock rims that would fit on my car.

wait are you looking for TIRES or WHEELS aka rims?

if you are looking for wheels than just about any 4x100 bolt will fit as long as the backspacing is right.

darn near any honda etc wheel has that bolt pattern.

here´s a fact:

The EGT requires an H rated 185/60 15
Most peeps go to the 195 that´s cool

but to stick with the 185 the only tire made is the GT +4 (pretty good tire, but discontinued and you can´t get any in certain states that are sold out of them)

The Eagle RSA (not H rated, but okay for the escort in this case) ....my opinion as a tire salesman --- Shittiest tire EVER made.

And of course another Goodyear Eagle that is like $170.

So I went to 17x7´s and now I can get Falkens, Kumho´s or Yokohama´s for like 110 a tire.

haha, Denis, try using the RSA.
I am comparing the GT+4 compared to Sear´s Guardsman, lower model coopers, etc. Trust me, better then a lot of tires....but yeah aren´t your radials BFG´s?

I would take worn out BFG´s over GT+4´s too.

If you have the 15" x 6" stock EGT rims then you can put 205/55/15 on them and they are exactly on (well very close)....

I have Dunlop 205/55/15´s on my car for the summer ...

hey egtdude.just to let you know i tried to fit aftermarket rims from an accord on to my escort and they didn´t fit. So i found only some honds rims fit on the scort. I think it´s just the civics that work. Havn´t tried yet though. Mine came with what you could consider street slicks. There fun to have in the rain. I think there good year eagles. Whatever they are shot and my inspections coming up. I found theese nice TSW rims but I don´t want to run them in the winter but i need tires. So I am perplexed as to what to do , i don´t want to buy tires now and then rims with more tires in the spring.

Blade...you have 17 inch rims on your car? that means your rolling stock has got to be 18", that should effectively make your gearing taller, making it slightly harder to rev. Also, are they heavier than the stock EGT 15s? if so that would also bog down your times. I´ve also heard that when you roll a larger diameter, your speedometer gets off, that from my old high school autos teacher.
Is any of this babbling worth your time reading it? or am I remembering and blowing lots of smoke?

I´m just curious here, cause I´d like to go to 16" rims. I´d like to get some Enkei rims, but i can´t find the kind i chose a few months ago...although I´m liking these 16x7 Milla Miglia HT3s I´m seeing on www.tirerack.com for $159/each.
