Found another picture of this one:
I can live with the circuit boards, but the rims, cmon.
Are you saying that you also think that one is an Escort? It's not like they show enough of the car for me to be 100% positive.
Well lets see, standard bike? 50-60hp. Broke the chain and have a rusted out Escort body, but the motor still runs? 88HP and a Trike conversion 8) It's the best of both worlds, only good things can come from it! NTM, this could open up a whole new mod section on this forum. Can you imagine a SPI Hybrid turbo in one of those?
But realisticly, if you look carefully, yeah, this guy replaced his whole drivetrain.
Also, he could take the rear if it was a wagon and add extra cargo space if he makes it a tow trailer.
Wow and I thought the 3rd gen "pick-up" Ive seen around here was crazy. I wish I had a pic, but its a maroon 3rd gen with the back of the car cut out to make a truck bed. it actually is done well, but still......
Yes, I can. It would be a wheely machine (if it isn't already.)
I didn't notice the trailer hitch until just now, but yes it looks like something is hooked up back there.
Shoot, if I took the time to do all that welding to make it look that decent, yeah, the rest of the body would be converted to a pull along trailer. My friends dad made a trailer from a old 60's model Chevy short bed pickup, and still uses it today.
Far as it being a wheelie machine, yeah, he would definitely need some lead weights on the front tube frame.
Wonder if this guy got the Escort headlights/turn signals to work with it too? I would just to get a little more light on the road. It's done up pretty well, could use some Spoke rims to somewhat match the front though.
If they can do that, I would think that getting the headlights to work would be easy enough, and probably quite useful.
That's definitely a 2nd Gen 2dr Hatch. Look at the seat head rests and automatic seat-belt slider on the nearest door. If that's not enough, the plain-looking mirror and door handle should be a dead give-a-way.
not to mention the shape of the rear vent glass. Only 2 cars have that shape rear-side glass, an American 2nd Gen Ford Escort 2 door Hatchback, or a European Cosworth. A Escort, either way. Then between the 2 of them, look at the fender. No flares, American 2nd Gen
. If you look at the bottom side skirt, its a GT.
At first I was like "that took alot of time to paint".... but now after putting my glasses on.... Someone had way too many spare boards lying around and FAR too much free time.
Take the wheels off and it may be alright and different.... Sad to do to a seemingly rust free gt... PA Winter!!! Y U NO NICE TO OUR CARS?!?!
divorce is a b*tch, the wife took half everything:
It's definitely a 2nd gen Escort:

It has fan guards in the grill lol.
Wait a minute..... small single out exhaust...... not a gt?
Grill suggests that it's a LX.
the thing is probably 20 years old, and lives in michigan. it's a replacement exhaust.
From the looks of the other pictures, that was taken during the Woodward Dream Cruise on Woodward Ave (Rt 1).
I dont know about you guys, but i think the grill is actually pretty cool. Definatly not another one like it anywhere else.
