I want to add a voltmeter gauge to my 1995 Escort LX. I'm thinking that I can get a round one and find a dash piece similiar to my car same color, etc. (lower dash portion probably) and drill a hole in it and mount the new gauge in it. Anyone know a good spot to do place this.

And this should be as easy as it gets for a new gauge, I should think. Just want to get it done before I potentially need a new alternator, etc.

You can do it on the A pillar if you get or make a pod. I think there a cuole dudes here that have that. Another way I thought might be slick is on top of the dash in the big flat area, but you need to make the back of the guage with a body or back dome or something. While you're at it, add an oil pressur guage too.

I was thinking that went piece of there is enough cleareance behind it I could add a round meter there just to the right of the dash. Ideally a flat digital voltmeter that I could just sticky one would be better but I can't fine one for a reasonable price (I found one but it's $100). Another reson why I like this area is because it's near the stereo which is where I'm going to pick up the power and dimmer control for it.

I doubt that the pillar is a good idea, not much room and a bit out of the way. I think I'll try the vent piece mod with a piece from the junkyard. Will post a pic if successful.
