the all powerful siragan sez:

The Enkei E296 RS-5 look much better on escorts imo.

The wheels you are looking at are WAY too nice for escorts man... way too nice.
My personal advice to you is to spend your money getting a nicer car.

Is your goal to look nice, or to go faster? If you want to drastically improve your handling and acceleration, go light and wide... rota wheels are my personal favs.

hey, while we're on the subject of wheels:
i have a quick question - if i threw on a set of GT (15") rims on my LX (14"). would there be an issue with the tire sizing? would i have to buy a set of slightly lower profile tires in case the reg. GT tires mess with my speedo readings? or would it all be gravy, and i can just pop 'em on no problems and ride into the sunset?

what which rotas do you want?
He wants the slipstreams, dumazz... I oughta jack your jaw for bein a stupid little bitch. ;)

Seriously though...
the subzeros would be a good choice, mainly because they come in silver, black, bronze, etc. Make sure you get the 17x7.5" wheels... I can tell you from experience that the wider wheelbase makes a huge difference in how much your car sticks to the road.

Death:
I'm not sure off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure that the GT rims won't even bolt onto the hubs of the LX. They're both 4 lug, but the offsets are different. The total wheelsize is also different, I think... in order to find out, you have to add the rim diameter to the tire height. You back the tire height out by using the width and aspect ratio. Tirerack.com has a little explanation that I suggest reading.

Assuming you do all the work, and make sure that when your wheels are turned that you're not hitting the wheel wells, all you have to worry about are the total tire sizes. Running smaller diamater wheels won't hurt the car, per se, but you will get different speedometer readings and such. Putting on two different sized wheels will start screwing up your differential gear seriously though... so that's why you don't drive fast with a spare.

LX and GT suspensions, brakes and wheels are interchangeable.. same offset.. 35mm. The tire diameters are the same as well.

If you get the Rotas from ZXTuner, Rob will make sure you get the right size for your car.

You'll need to trim or roll your rear fenders for some 205 width tires to fit properly.
