I apologize if this has been asked and answered before- I was not able to find the information for the station wagon though.

My wagon currently has 5 1/2" Alpine coaxes in front and 5" x 7" Alpine coaxes in the rear tower location.

as long as they aren't too deep, you can fit 6.5" speakers up front.

    The rears are definitely 5x7.

    6x8 speakers will not fit.

Yes! Depth is an issue on the fronts or you'll have to grind open a larger opening.

I had to bolt the speakers to the door panel where the speaker grill is to clear the magnet from hitting the door. Of course doing that introduced a new issue that being the tweeter cone hitting the door panel as it was slightly higher than the main speaker. I resolved that issue by taking a heat gun and heating that area until it became pliable then I took a bowling ball and set it on top of the grill giving it a slight curve to clear the tweeter. Once it cooled it stayed that way.

I'm *assuming* that the sheet metal is the same inside the doors between 2nd and 3rd gens.

I had 5 1/2" alpines up front previously, and now have 6" nakamichi coaxials up front. They fit like a glove, and don't scrape the window nor bulge out the door panels (2nd gen) like the alpines did. I think the alpines were type-E? The Nakamichis were only like $40 and I love them.

Nakamichi has been bought out. They make $40 cd players now.
I bought one of their signal processors for $150. Opportunists bought them and relisted them for about $1000. Don't be fooled!

Still good speakers, but I mean they're coaxials. Tweeters are incredibly pleasant I must say.
