i have a 91 escort lx right now... 1.9
ill show some pics later... thinkin of sellin this one and gettin another scort cuz my damn moms bf hit it and its dented and its almost got 190 thou miles on it... any suggestions on what year and everything?

Alright, here we go. My suggestion is a 91-96 Escort GT ( 95 and 96 GT are harder to find). First of all they are mazda cars with Ford bodies. They have 1.8L DOHC motors with 125HP, 4whl disc brakes. If you are going to stay with the escort you gotta have the GT otherwise it will cost alot to deck out anything other than. I say this, with an intake and just a muffler with synthetic oil and 139,ooo miles I was beating any civic and right next to if not in front of the SI. As of now I have a lot more done but take my word, the GT is the way to go.

I would recomend a second gen EGT. I got a 91 and I am really impressed with the power it has. Also the handling is pretty good with plain sturts on it yet. I have a dual chamber exhaust on it and it has a really nice sound to it and a custom intake which was really easy to make. The Gt has alot you can find for it. the other scorts really don´t have much of anything offered for them. And the 1.8 DOHC engine is really strong. You wouldn´t know it has 120 thousand on it. The only problem i had was the tranny took a crap which I found was a bit hard to come by cause i was told that as soon as they come in they go right back out. Other than that parts are easy to come by also. But the tranny can go on any car also. I dunno I recomned the 91-94 Gt though. I would recomnd stick with it cause the automatic tends to be a bit of a dog off the line, trust me.
