Ok, so for ohio ppl, u know how the weather got real nice out friday....Well morning was cold and car started and ran fine...But on way to class i noticed my right rear caliper was siezed. Well, had to drive it to shop and boy did the thing smoke....Got a 580 dollar estimate..wanted to crap my pants...well knowin that it was just the caliper that froze up, went to junkyard got caliper of a gt for 10 bucks and solved my brake problem....Just shows what those gay shops like to do to ppl...but...when i got home to install it, i started car and it seemed to want to stall....droppin between 700 and 500 rpm....gave her some gas, let idle again, back to normal at 800....Well, drove to work, car started fine. Got off work, car started fine since it was a little colder. Today, it did the same thing, wants to stall, but once i give it some gas for about 20 secs it will idle fine. Ne one got ne ideas? Car runs just fine...no knocks, no vibrations, no indications that something is wrong w/ the car. Just dont know where to start on figuring it out... HELLPPP

Hey man I was just on the s. east side of Columbus just south of I-70 off of US 33. Columbus is a beautiful city. very nice skyscrapers, weird layout of the downtown roads though. they had parkin on the sides of the streets, but they were painted as lanes...really weird. hehe anyway You sure your fuel pump/injectors don´t need to be cleaned? my car will do that same thing...it´ll run fine, then i´ll start it up when it´s warm and it´ll idle funny, once i drive it it stops so I dunno what the problem is. :-?

i asked in another thread if we could meet up at your house but I don´t think you saw it, and now I don´t even remember where it is...oh well. I put a 1.8 engine along with a 10" sub and an amp and my gas mileage went up...27.3 mpg. Thats what 4 hours of highway driving will do for ya. poor birddog went to PA and then has to drive all the way back to Virginia...lol that 4 hours was too much for me. I won´t be goin that far anytime soon. hehe :)

Well if it makes you feel any better, when my car is warmed up, it will fall back to about 800rpm, then DROP to about 300rpm, then go up to about 500rpm, and bounce back and forth in a sinusoidal fashion about 5 times or so, and then finally steady out at 800rpm

It´s a strange problem, and sometimes my car will stall out completely at a stop light, and I hate it cause it makes me look like I´m a fool who doesn´t know how to drive my stick shift :)

I was thinking it was a problem with the o2 sensor, which I had replaced for 290 dollars (last time I ever take my car to a shop) and that didn´t fix it, I tried replacing the VAF with an RX-7 style VAF, and that didn´t fix it either, so I was thinking it was my ISC valve, but I don´t honestly know. It seems like my car is going through a range of settings to "find" an "optimum" idle setting or something. Any ideas?

Yeh siragen, i know your problem...Time to replace the control module...If you dont, eventually it will get to the point to where the car will only run for 5 or so mins(enough time for the control module to get hot and quit working)...My tempo used to have that problem, but it would even do it when i would push in the clutch to take a corner. no powersteering in a corner goin 55, scary crap...but yeh, check the control module...U can bring it places to get it checked....but have them run the test about 15 times...My control module was bad, but it passed the test 3 times before i just went ahead and bought one neway.
Now, w/ my problem, i dont think its the control module....sigh, if only our cars were obdII compliant. I have a little tool for my palm pilot that does a diagnostics check on ford obd II...i wish i wish..Ne one else have ne suggestions??

if you had a Pocket PC they have programs out there that you can put on it to dyno your car. check your sensors, etc... :-o my brother found that in one of my magazines. he´s all about the pocket PC. I´m a loser because I like cars. but he´s "cool" because of his pocket pc. of course I see it the other way around ;-)

hey, what junkyard in ohio is this? the one you went to, address and name and whatnot. i´ve been looking all over northern ohio for some junkyards that have gt parts for the 2nd gen. but the closest i could find were a shit load of LX´s, tracers, and GT´s of the 1st gen.

thanks!

there is a junkyard near where i live called MARS.. its near akron on cleveland ave. it has a couple escorts and a white e.gt, the front end (bumper, etc.) is pretty much gone and the engine block is gone(rusted).. but everything else it pretty good. there is another in manchester ohio that is pretty big that has a few e.gt´s .. i forget the name of that one though..

Hondas are like belly-buttons. Everybodys got one!
