I see this almost everyday on my car and I have always wondered what it was. It look like a plug thing and it is under my dash, here is a pic

If it's trapezoidal, it's an OBD-2 connector.

It's a government-standardized plug designed for checking the error codes from the "on-board diagnostic".

i actually prefer automatic.

My last car, a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant was a manual and it had clutch problems with it and left me stranded one day when it ran out of fluid. It liked to leak over a course of 3 days resulting in me filling it with brake fluid constantly. That is the reason i was turned off about manual cars. Although they are pretty fun to drive

I dunno... being able to heel-toe at the apex of a turn to be right in the powerband is something that I simply can't do without. Coming out of the apex of a turn brapping the rev limiter up at 5700+ is the reason why I drive cars. Word to ya motha.
