On the neg battery terminal what is this connector for?

They are grounds for additional accessories, mine was so corroaded causing a no crank issue that I had bypass it and run all wires to the ground terminal at battery to solve it.

That red stuff is battery terminal spray protector, helps prevents corrosion on the terminals.
