^^ISnt the motor supposed to be warm when you do the test also?


I've always done compression tests by removing just the plug on the cylinder you're testing, and leaving the other 3 in (just remove the coil wire 1st)

that's pretty low. my old beater had ~180k on it and the compression tested around 175psi.

just to make sure you're doing the test right... you removed all 4 plugs, unplugged the grey 4-wire plug from the distributor, and cranked it with the throttle wide open... right?
i just pulled each plug at a time kept 4pronge unpluged and cranked it over and the engine was cold it bounced between 125-165
