and a whole lot less than that:

-no power windows & locks
-manual tranny
-no cassette/cd, just am/fm radio
-no rear defrost
-no cruise
-13" steelies

bare, bone-ass stock.

it's considered to be the lightest of the 2nd gen escorts.

According to my '91 Ford Escort brochure it says that the radio it self was an option, not a standard feature.

Other items that weren't standard:

Clear coat of paint
Cloth insert and lower carpet on doors
Split fold rear seats 60/40
Body molding
Rear reflectors
Wheel covers
Rear spoiler

My escort is considered the pony model even though it dosnt have the stickers on the fenders. My car dosnt have rear speakers and only weighs about 2100 pounds!

Actually, a pony is a small, full grown horse (that appears to be a 'Shetland' pony). A baby horse is a foal, an adult would be a mare or stallion. A nutless one is a gelding.
Dont F with a Texan about their horses LMAO
