what kind of bulbs are used for a 99 escort instrument panels? or where can i go to find out. and can i find white gauge clusters, or do i have to make them?
hey thanks, thats the first answer ive gotten from anyone on a couple different forums. they do come in colors right? and if so could i get blue to make the dash ligths blue instead of the boring old green? thanks alot
they have indiglos for your car on ebay. They are white during the day. If you change the bulbs i don´t think it would make a difference since the light comes through the guage face which is already colored. The indiglos are only around 60 bucks I think. go on ebay and type ford escort and you will see about 40 pages of escort stuff. Let me know how you make out.
No.. you cant just change to a blue bulb and get blue instruments. Its been a while since I have been in the instrument cluster but I believe that the numbers and lines on panel are tinted green... but it could be green plastic cover in front of those that can be taken out. Also the needles would not show blue... You have to pop the needles off with a fork (very carefully) and take a razor and scrape off the orange paint on the bottom of the needles.
I found white gauge faces at ProCarParts.com, and I´m planning on getting the white reverse glow ones. I´ve heard it´s a real pain to get them installed, though. Is this true?
