I'm not really sure what you just said. But there is a flange at the end of the cat and the front of the cat back right behind the oil pan. Any muffler shop will have the flange you need. So your new down pipe can just bolt up with out having to cut and weld your cat back.stlsk8rpunk91 said:well i live in missouri and know plenty of people with turbos so i doubt it won pass with a turbo but so do i just cut the original pipes off my catalytic converter and weld the downpipe to it then to my exhaust?
OK People.. listen up. I need to remind all of you that having a Catalytic Converter on your car is a FEDERAL LAW, not a state law. This is EPA territory, and simply put if the car came with a cat from the factory, it's gotta have one now. AFAIK only the diesel escorts didn't have cats.. so legally no matter what state you reside.. you need to have one and serious fines and possible jailtime can result if you get caught.TheSilverShredder said:Who needs a catalytic converter? In Indiana, as far as i know, our emissions standards are next to nil. I'd just get rid of it here. Depends on where you live though.
