My passenger side rear strut tower thingy is rusting away pretty damn bad. I can open the hatch and look and see light coming thru from the bottom. I guess I'll have to reweld it or something soon. Damn this sucks. Now im paranoid.

My mother's LX wagon had the shock come right through the tower. She needed to have a piece of an old escort unibody welded in.

It just made me feel real good to have her drive around a car where the suspension randomly penetrated the frame of the car.

DONT FEEL SO BAD, AT LEAST ITS NOT A NEW CAR THAT HAS BAD SUSPENSION

WHEN THE AVALANCHES FROM CHEVY CAME OUT, THe first run of them had bad suspension
the announcement went "if you are dricving a chevy avalanche right now, stop, call a tow truck suspension is known to fall out from the car"

plus the new dodges all of them are recalled whells falling of or something.

it does suck, sorry the weather does it to you, what gen is your car, if its a first gen i have a spare on on the driveway i could cut that suction out for you for the cost of lets say shipping.

Well I got this really dumb idea. I think what Im gonna do for shits and giggles is bondo it up, then have it sprayed with LineX on the inside and on the outside. The material LineX is made from is REALLY tuff so I think it'll be ok and stop the rust.

Thats OK if whats left of the car is enough to keep it stucturally sound, but if you need strength to support the car with - bondo is not the way to go!

Im just using bondo so the lineX will have something to stick to. LineX is VERY strong, So I think it'll do great.

Getting this back on topic for a quick minute, this happened to my rear strut tower. First it was the passenger side...finally hit one good bump (I had no idea it was rusted out) and it cracked all the way around. Happened the next winter on the other side...Seems like a more common problem than I thought. Keep an eye on your other one. It'll go too
