I was driving around lookin at cars... I checked out a Z24 (Auto tranny), found a green 2nd gen SHO, also an ATX. Then I saw an older model Regal GS (looks very clean) for $1550. After that I drove by the lot where I bought my 92 GT and noticed a white, very clean 96 GT 5 sp for $1995.
I checked out the mileage on the odo and it said 88,xxx miles. I bought my 92 at 87,117 for the same price they're asking for this one. Coincidence? 8O

Ok here's what I'm confused about. When I looked at the mileage, I noticed the speedo only goes to 85...why did ford do that? it has a tach and the temp/gas gauges like mine does, yet it doesn't have the 120 tach that should have come with the GTs. Anyone else have a GT with an 85 speedo?? :?

It USED to be government law that the speedo could not read over 85mph. (for safety reasons, look at any domestic car from the early '80's) but that hasn't been in effect since '86 or so, so i don't know why the 96 would have it, unless they're cheaper to produce.
