    Long shot??

Does the VIN tell you whether the ZX2 is Auto or 5-speed? I found an online VIN decoder but it doesn't differentiate.

Also, anyone know when the '99.5 ZX2 VIN started that had the upgraded/replaced 6-wired MAF vs. the '98-early'99 4-wire?

    Thanks.

REASON: Looking to test another PCM in my ZX2 and I have VINs from local pullnsave yard.

the ones i have used have shown the transmission type of the car

the books at autoparts show a certain date. Some people say other dates. Both are wrong. I know this through experience and having a 6 wire car with the older items on the engine. The example I have is a 99 s/r which was made toward the end of the 99 production. There is a more definite way to tell though but it is not done with the vin

i have compiled a list of pcm from zx2. you have not provided any information about your car though so i can only be a vague due to not having specific information which to provide specific answers

    good luck
