I tried to make it as good as possible.
LOL. for 525, you could have done much worse.
How old are you? (you look too young to drive; or I am getting real, real old...)(maybe both)
your odometer is only a 5-digit unit. it doesn't have 631,000 - it has 63,100. the white digit is for tenths of a mile. It may have 163,000 depending on if the odometer has exceeded its mechanical limits (rolled over)
Having different keys probably means the ignition switch has been replaced, and they didnt go to the extra expense of having a locksmith dismantle the new assembly to make the lock match the door keys. Mine Escorts are like that. Mine also have the sliding latch for the drivers side shoulder belt that either dont work at all or only work when its warm weather.
With the 5-speed transmission, its a good idea to make sure it has enough fluid in it.
Drive careful. My first car was a 53 Hudson that was in mint shape - until I flipped it end-over-end down an embankment into a cornfield.
And good luck with your car and thanks for the video.
The 6 is hidden in there quite well. It says 631367 right on there. It looks like 31367 but the 6 is there. :/
yes there are 6 digits, but the one on the far right is for tenths of a mile. that's why it's white, not black like the rest of the digits.
Yup. I think the first LX Escorts that came with an odometer having the digit for showing over 99,999 were the 1995's. My 92LX has been in the family since new, so I know the distance it has gone is really 245,000 miles, rather than the 45,000.0 showing on the odo. For my other three Escorts I can only guess.
Oh, so the 100 thousands range is unknown. Great.
I will send you a 'conversation', so look for it in your 'inbox'.
