Assuming most of my cluster lights are burned out, how diffacult of a job isn't to eplace the bulbs? Also what doninreplace them with? Are they just like 168's?

It's not hard to do at all. I'll be doing it to my 97 as soon as the weather warms up a little.

The dash lights are #194. I can't remember if there's 5 or 6 bulbs. If you do a quick search, there are several posts on our forum describing how to remove and reinstall the instrument cluster.

If you have the instrument panel out for some reason without enough new bulbs, you can swap the partly silvered over dim bulbs with the ones for the idiot lights, which will presumably be very little used.

The idiot lights have a smaller base. I replaced the ones in my '97 wagon with LED's the cluster lights are T10 and the idiot lights are T5. OP, if you're not in a hurry to change them you can get LED's on eBay out of China for around 10/$1-$2. They seem to be doing fine in my wagon. If you replace them with LED's be sure to check the light operation before you reinstall the dash. If the light doesn't burn take it out, turn it 180*, reinsert it and it should work. Here's what I used for cluster lights. https://www.ebay.com/itm/10X-T10-W5...ash=item4d41a0b9ff:g:4m8AAOSwZ8ZW9iWS&vxp=mtr Here's what I used in the idiot lights https://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-T5-D...ash=item466ef7b8fe:g:GWkAAOSwhpZZ-SlP&vxp=mtr

I believe on the second gen cars the bulbs are all the same size, not like our third gens

Don't know what I was thinking. I didn't have to remove the dash. I just removed the cluster so it should have read check light operation before reinstalling the cluster.
