Exactly what am I suppoed to be looking for in thesse dropped valev seat pics?

The only thing I notice is what looks like particualte matter on the one in the right:

The valve seat pieces traveled to other cylinders and damaged all 4. Hence the damage in the other cylinders.

Nice write up. I think I'll have to pass this on to the focus boards.
I think the SPI focus has it the worst.

There must be somthing special with my 97 SPI motor, all original over 200k miles and turbo'd. Never a problem.

Thanks, part of the inf I found was on the focal jet forums, mostly about the vin code thing and about how to prevent it with deeper eats. But the rest is from my own experience and other things I dug up. I'm glad it's helpful, I sure learned a lot from this hands on experience.

i bought a can of chemtool b12, a injector cleaner, i dumped half of it in my gas tank ,yanked a vacuum hose off and slowy fed the rest to my intake system, there was a little smoke, not much, but the car seems to run smoother
