I ran across a 1.9L HO head, the injection system, Harness and exhaust manifold. Will this bolt up to my 94 LX without too much aggrevation? I looked at the specs and it seems that the 90 spec 1.9lHO ran at 110HP. Sure as hell better than the stock 88 that I still have. Please Advise me before I spend the money on this. The HO head uses a distributor, so you´ll need to put a freeze plug in there to use the ´94´s DIS ignition. Besides that I am pretty sure it should bolt on. I don´t think anyone has pulled this off yet, so there´s no definite info out there that I´ve seen. One thing though, I think it is more the intake manifold and pistons in the HO that makes the difference, and the head itself is basically the same between the HO and 91-96 1.9´s. At least grab the header off that engine and stick it on your´s if nothing else. Hope this helps.

I read somewhere that the valves were bigger in the HO head. 1.652 in / 1.459 ex as opossed to 1.534 in / 1.338 ex on the second gen. So that alone would make it worth while to get a hold of. And as fa as I know the same style head was used on all CVH engines from the 1.3 to the 2.0. Another place where the HO has an advantage over the second gen is in the throttle body. The second gen TB is tiny compared to the HO. So swapping that out will give you a few more ponys easily.

After reviewing my source some more I noticed that the 2.0 CVH engine had even bigger valves. 1.738 / 1.456 Well the intake is bigger, the exhaust is about the same. And they have a 9.2:1 compression as opposed to 9.0:1 on the HO and second gen 1.9. Maybe smaller combustion chamber, or higher compression pistons. Either way, I wouldn´t mind getting ahold of some 2.0 pistons and boring out my block.
