FORD CAN NO LONGER GET THIS INFORMATION. ONLY ELECTRICAL DIAGRAMS. If anyone has a vacuum diagram for my escort or if you can just take a picture of yours on your car, I would appreciate it if you would either post a link here, or just send a link or picture to my personal email ASAP. My email is [email protected] ; I have had so much trouble with this escort. I cannot figure out what is wrong with it. I have replaced the head, injectors, idle control sensor, and much more including the block as well. The car has been sitting for a year at this point. I have put a few gallons of gas in it within the past month because I have finally been able to run it. I was wondering if my problem is bad gas. I replaced the fuel filter as well. It made no difference. The engine sounds great at a high RPM and is in time, but if the car gets about 2000 RPM and below, it spits and sputters (not backfire at all) and tries to cut off if you dont give it more gas, though it is very responsive to rev back up if you give it gas. I cannot figure it out and it has been giving me this problem for a while. I want to check the vacuum lines, but the diagram is missing from the car, and the repair manual does not list it. Any help would be appreciated. I need to finish this car. I have too much invested. I just found one missing vacuum line on the bottom of the air intake where the IAC is. Thanks guys! Any information or pictures will help!

Do you have a Chiltons manual? they included vacuum diagrams.

Or...The Ford EVTM manuals, like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1989-For ... Literature

The problem is that there are different calibrations for each model year depending on the state the car sold in, and the options. Without knowing your code, you'll have to match your setup to the correct diagram by identifying your individual components.

Thank you for the help. I actually figured it out last night. There was one hose unhooked, and a bolt on the upper intake manifold (to the right of the writing "HO".) the bolt goes through an engine bracket into the intake manifold. Who knew it went all the way through the intake, so it leaks air if you don't plug it? Its running like a champ finally. Thanks again!
