Tito had one on his GT and he liked it. I think it's one of the better mods you can do... too bad it's so dang expensive. If I were in your shoes, I'd find a machine shop and get a nice aluminum billet and lathe out your own one. I dunno if it has a harmonic balancer in it though... hrm

I dunno, I guess it's not the same company but the guys on ERDT with SOHC third gens all bought theirs (I think a lot of them got the 50% pulley) for about a hundred dollars.

and what is the difference between the stock and the aftermarket underdrive pulley?

Weight? diameter?

and what are the pros and cons of using such aftermarket pulley?

usually half the weight, and helps the motor spool up a little faster. but also dosent turn your accesories over as much.
I have one on my gt, and you do notice a big diffrence in electric power at idle, plus you have to keep the r up or the power steering dosent work so well at slow speeds. But does help with afew numbers on the dyno.

If you have an auto, and sit in traffic alot. it dosent help.

thanks alien...no i have a 5 spd and removing my Power S and my A/c during the winter is one of my goals :p
if your removing them you dont really need to run this... given there is still the alternator but if you dont have those two things all together you will gain more than you ever could with an udp. this would be a waste of money to do if your removing that stuff, this is a mod to do if you want similar results to removing that stuff but still want the p/s and a/c. basically by doing that you are taking a udp farther than one could ever go.

Fordboy,
but if you remove those and still run a udp, its still lighter bu half than stock, and still turn the alst less, in theory woudlnt it help still, since again it is lighter, less rotating mass?

So if I have a sub (small system but might be looking to upgrade it later...) and I get say, a 25%, how much of an effect would that have? Could I just go ahead and get the 50% without too much power loss? I don't wanna drain the battery down. :?

get a larger udp coyote you can get like 70% and what not i mean with systems the way they are now the alternators have troble keeping up with them its all a matter of what you want a stereo or to go faster.

and basically what i ment by it being a waste of money alien is that yeah it may give minimal amounts of power even after the other accessories are removed but by removing those all together you will gain more power than you ever would with a udp because its not driving them at all and to spend 200 bucks on a udp to underdrive the alternator i think is a bit much for the VERY small gain in power (it would probably not be noticable at all).

so if i were to get a 50% underdrive pulley, would i still be able to listen to my radio, while driving fast? i don't have any subs. but also, how would my headlights work??? also, about how much of a gain on my egt with a 5-spd manual, would i get?? like, 5-10 hp or what?

i dont understand how a gear that is 50% lighter....and of the same diameter would make the belt run slower ?
it's not that it's 50% lighter, it's lighter and it has two sections. one that runs from the crank, and then another that is smaller or larger to turn the accessories at a higher or slower speed in proportion to the speed of the crank

its a smaller diameter, when you run the gear at a smaller dia, iit has more tourge to start turning over the accesories, but since its smaller it doesnt turn them as much.

be like having a top speed of 1st with the new pully, but the old pully having a tops speed like 3rd or 4th

anyone know how bad this mod is. since the new pulley doesn't have a harmonic balencer wouldn't it be bad for the engine?

This is why I will not ever buy one. The 2nd gen GT's have a rubber dampener built into the crank pulley to take vibration off the crank. If any thing I would get acessory pullies.
