WOW , I can't get a break!
After a auto tranny rebuild and a lower engine rebuild Ihave developed a problem. Every thing was running and shifting fine for about 2 hours.
Here is the senerio: escort starts out in low and shifts into 2 good, then
the engine overrevs between 2 & 3, (if I let off the throttle it will sliiide into 3rd). It pulls hard once in 3rd then shifts good into 4th. 4th or OD seems to hold good while driving. If I mash the gas (as if to pass someone), the tranny downshifts and engine will overrev and tranny slips until I let off throttle.
Does this sound like a shift silonoid or a sticky valve?

On Dec. 20th 2009, I posted a thread concerning the rebuild. During an air check on the new clutch pack operation, I stated that using 40 psi, the coasting clutch had some leakage (blowby). I had rechecked the new seals for a tear but could not find anything. I am now wondering if the housing got hot & expanded enough to the point were a new seal would not seal.
One other issue I had during the rebuild was the fact that, one of the silonoids had the wire pulled off. I was able to repair the silonoid by resoldering the wire to it. The problem now is, I don't remember checking for a clicking sound as I did with the other silonoids.
I 'm not sure but I don't think the silonoid would cause slippage. I just don't think it would shift.
I 'm now thinking it may be that seal that's causing my greif. I am going to try putting in some LUCAS TRANS OIL.
