Hi All, for the last few days I cannot get Rockauto on the computer. On Mozzilla I get the "The connection has timed out" after a few minutes. On Internet Explorer the page just cycles back to the search page.

    Other sites are working normally.

I've run the Windows Defender and Norton anti virus programs which find nothing wrong.

Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas of what I can try?

Well I have tried two browsers, and until now I've had no problems. I guess it might be a local problem.

I just tried Duck Duck Go, and still it is not working.

    "The connection has timed out

The server at www.rockauto.com is taking too long to respond."

Well the wife's out of town, so I guess I'll try to hack into her computer tomorrow as it's now bedtime for mechanics.

Yes... the update is, I still can't connect. I tried the wife's computer and had similar lack of success.
The Google search shows the typical myriad results, but when I "click" on it, there is about a thirty second delay until the dreaded "Timed Out" page comes up.

I am planning to buy some parts for a neighbour's car to repair, I might try at his place.

Yes, I used the spouse's computer with the same results. I also plugged the computer directly into the modem instead of using the wifi or whatever it is, in the house.
Still no luck, Rockauto comes up as:

    "The connection has timed out

The server at www.rockauto.com is taking too long to respond."

It does take about half a minute to get that message, and the little circular thing at the tab header spins around. So it definitely is trying.

    Maybe your isp blocked it?

Could anyone you know bring a computer over to your house? Could be something on your computers blocking it.

Do you have a smartphone you could try?

I tried an IPAD, and it says "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding".

How can I find out if it is blocked by an ISP? I think this less likely because the messages always say "Timed Out" rather than blocked.

    Call them I guess.

It could also be your wireless router. Is your network secure?

    Hi Gamer!

Looks like you're already on the right track.

Site is accessible from other spots, but not at home. It would be incredibly odd if that really is the only site that is affected. I'll bet there are others. Assuming that it really is just that site, it's either the router or the ISP.

It could also be the particular server IP that your DNS (computer phone book) is resolving to. If we all ping Google.Com, we're all going to resolve to different IP addresses; depending on region. RockAuto might be setup the same way.

@Joey_Twowagons - Do you have any sort of web filtering service? (blocking porn sites for instance) Try typing in "https://www.rockauto.com/". Still an issue? Open your Start Menu, type "Command Prompt" and in the black window type "IPConfig /ALL". In the output, you'll have the DNS servers listed. It is typically set to that of your router's IP... typically equal to the Gateway address. Type "ping www.rockauto.com" and you'll get an IPv4 address. Try plugging in that IP address in place of the friendly name... "https://198.27.61.99/" for example.

I phoned up the provider and the tech support is working on it, they phoned me back after doing a bunch of magic stuff without success, and will phone me again after doing some more.

I did try typing in "https://rockauto.com/" and "https://198.27.61.99/ " with the same lack of success as ever.

Hopefully the tech support will come through.
