Hi all - I am writing from the UK. I have a 1972 bubble arched Mk1 Escort Mexico and am planning to ship the car (with at least one other Mk1) to the USA next year (2005) to do a charity fundraising run from New York to LA. It would be great to meet up with anyone who is interested in seeing us. Is this the best club to contact people ? if not where else should I try.

Thanks

All the best

Jon

We have a bunch of members in the southwest (CA, AZ, NM) and northwest (WA, OR) who would be happy to see a UK Scort...Hell stop by Fort Wayne Indiana and I'd come to meet ya. :p

You could contact either Matt or Donnie. Both are the administrators on this site, they'll see this eventually and get back with you.

Hi all - thanks for responding to my message - We are planning to come over around Sept next year and the aim is to go from NY to Chicago (possibly via Detroit - is this where Ford's head office is ??) From Chicago we are aiming to loosely follow Route 66 to LA. We haven't worked out a firm route yet but if we can meet up with any of you it would be great. Let me know exactly where you are and maybe we can plan a get together. We think that the trip will take approx 14 days and we are hoping to tie in with some car shows on the way. If you can give us any suggestions on how we can we find out what shows are happening and where it would be much appreciated. This year four of us (in two 72 Mk1s did a 5000 mile trip from UK to Malta raising money for Multiple Sclerosis. We had a really good time and now want to go one better !!
The Charity we are collecting for is a UK charity called the Motor Neurone Disease Association. In the USA Motor Neurone Disease is called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) It is a degenerative neurological disease (a bit like MS) which affects the muscles. I work as a Rehabilitaion Engineer for the Health Service so I meet people with the disease in my work. My e-mail address is [email protected] so feel free to contact me direct if you want, I can send you pics of the cars if you want

Thanks for replying. Spread the new that were coming !!

All the best

Jon

P.S if your over here anytime it would be good to see you (we are approx 30 mile north of London in a town called Hitchin)
P.S 2 - Can I post a photo on the site and how would I do it ??
