Hey gang, I don´t know if any of you have ever dealt with them but they are closing down due to some crap being said at the E.R.D.T. Board. Does anybody have any information about what is going on? I ordered a grill from them so far but now I won´t be able to get any other things from them.

They were a small company that made 1st Gen products. They had grills, bumpers, spoilers and even some engine accessories. I was going to get the air filter but can´t now. If I´m not mistaken ShinyBlue has one on his Scort now.

I bought UPR´s foam air intake kit.
For the money I paid, I would have expected a more professional job.
I basically had to spend an hour bending and grinding the bracket that was included just to make it fit properly.
There were air leaks in between the bracket and the filter. And the paint that was used to cover the welding mess on the bracket started to chip off and fall inside the throttle body.
Everything is under control now, but I expected that kit to be an easy bolt-on.

That´s just my 2 cents.

Well, I don´t know for sure what the whole story is but from what I have gathered on the other board that is whats going on. I have never had a problem with them and they always emailed me back. I´m hoping its just a little tiff that they can work out. Anyway, its just sad we lost a supplier who was attempting to make parts for the 1st Gen. I can´t say much for the other companies that make products for 2nd, 3rd and even 4th Gen Scorts who won´t even try to make anything for the 1st Genner´s. I´m sticking behind U.P.R. all the way. Hopefully they will still sell to me and some other good customers.

Hey guys, I wrote the UPR guys, and got the whole scoop from James, their welder and basicly co owner it seems. The whole thing seems to have stemmed from the intake that was mentioned a few posts up. They were really tough to fabricate, so once they got a system going they hired on a few guys to build them. It seems these guys werent as up to par as they had believed they were. The guys "Half assed" the intakes, and gave UPR a bad name because of it. I won´t go into all the details since I´m not sure what all they are wanting people to know, but I did get a rather lengthy e-mail with all the info, and that seems to be the root of the reason. Anyway, James says Adam is out of town at the moment, and he also stated that Adam really like working on the Escort line. I bought some white guages from them, and I think they are great. They actually sent me new temp and fuel guages with the faces on them, instead of sending a sticker sheet and telling me to do it my self. These guys really care for the customer from what I have seen, and what James told me. I really hate to see them go, and I really hope to see a comeback from these guys. Maybe when Adam gets back, he will re think his descition. At least that´s what I´m hoping. They had a lot planned for the scort line. If anyone else wants to show their support and hopefully let them know that all is not lost, go to their website, www.adam.patzer.com and send them an e-mail letting them know that we are still here for them.
