Mine is a radio only unit. When I am ready I will look at it to see if anything looks remotely familiar. I ordered the stereo input jack from ebay 5 for .79 vs 1 for 2.99 at radioshack.

I also wanted to add that if you are going to replace with an after market radio get one with an sd card reader rather than an aux port.

With an AUX only your super expensive radio wont be doing the super expensive part (i.e. processing the music file) your android phone will be doing that.

As where an sd card alone will be read and a signal processed via the head unit.

I think you mean USB port. I have one on my stereo and I have a thumb drive hooked into it.

USB or a reader slot either works. Ebay sells these crappy din radios that basically only function as radio and sd reader. they go for about 20. At that price point though your android would prob provide a better source signal.

I used to have an alpine before all this digital media business. Used to have the boom boom in the trunk too.

Amazingly helpful! I just did this myself, salvaging a plug from an old computer. I have more pix, if anyone is interested.
    Thank you, OG!

Glad this post is still helpful, I've donated my escort almost three years ago after dropping #4 valve seat, I had just finished supercharging it a few weeks prior and didn't get a chance to really enjoy it :(

Aw, so I tried it and it didn't work!! I think I may have connected the plug to the wrong location on the circuit board. Is there any chance you have the images or recall which side I was supposed to wire it to? In your post, only some of the images were still visible, so I guessed at what I could. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
