There is'nt a 98 probe turbo.

But any turbo can fit any car. It all depends on how much work you want to do, how much you want to spend, and how well the turbo matches the motor.

But if you have to ask, you should do lot's of reading before you put a turbo on anything.

It's the sign's fault for being there. Shoulda thought about that shit before standing next to a ROAD. I mean honestly, if you stand a few feet off of the road, you're gonna get hit one day.

BTW.. I love how this turbo question is asked every 2 days around here. I think, "Can I use the turbo off of a X on my escort" is some sort of built-in n0ob alert that is fundamental to the social structure of a car-site and is based in the most primal essence of ecology on the intarweb.

alot of people use the VJ-11 when they turbo their escort. talk with TheBlade, he turbo'd his scort and i think he used that turbo.

I'm with slapyo on this one. A VJ11 is your best bet, its what Mazda used to turbo the bp series in teh first place, however you could buy a T3/T4, have a bit more lag, but a TON more power... I got owned by a turbo'd Miata with the 1.6L Variant of the BP series motor which had a T3/T4 on it.

One question tho, why is this in the tech and repair? we have engine tuning and forced induction forums for these types of questions.

That old 2.2 is a bp series?????
I'm pretty sure the bpt GTX uses a VJ-20 <- much better.

The VJ-11 is the lowest power provider avalible turbo in a junk yard. Any T3 Volvo-Dodge-Saab-Ford 2.3, DSM or T25 turbo will give a higher CFM more efficently.

It's too small for the old 2.2 to begin with.

so i take the turbo from the car would i be able to use the parts that come with the turbo from the probe would i be able to use them all and put them in my scort???
