you said you have an LX right? well then you cant use anything from a miata since an lx would have the 1.9/2.0 ford engine and not the 1.8 mazda engine. check the stickies in this same section for help on your turbo setup

Alright I was also thinking about custom manifold that mean and a friend would make in a machine shop along with the conrods and it would probaly run at 19-24 lb's of boost

Why even bother with buying and installing pistons and rods with such a small turbo?
I'd have to think that little turbo will be pumping a hell of a lot of hot air at that kind of psi.

i think small turbos can only spool up to a certain amount. u'll want something bigger like a T3/T4 hybrid.

1.9's can handle 20psi stock so u don't need probe pistons which won't fit in the block.

the probe is a 2.2l turbo mazda engine that has nothing in common with your car/engine.

the easiest way to do what you want is to buy a dsm manifold and then pick a turbo that suits your hp / powerband goals.

saying i want 24psi doesnt mean anything.

your first mod should be a trip to chapters. buy maxium boost by corky bell and how to tune and modify electronic engine management systems by jeff hartman.

leave them in your bathroom and by the end of the month you will have assimilated a vast amount of turbo related knowledge.

Either go with a DSM turbo or a T3, T4 family.
Any thing else will be a pain in the arse to find flanges for and up grade with out having to start over from scratch.

do you have a 2nd gen or 3rd?......or 1st? and i have a garret td05 off of a talon, no installed, but compared to other turbos i have seen at the j/y it looks big enough for 8-24 psi, i would aslo add on that list something for your ignition, preferably msd, fmu or fpr...not actually sure which one is better, so search that up, oh and defiantly run an inter cooler! you get more power, a longer lasting engine, and less risk of detonation, umm depending on the year of your car there are a few throttle body's to swap that you can find in the j/y....and injectors, do all that, send it to a tuning shop and BAMM! honda drivers will throw up from shock :D

This is pretty much what SedanMan did haha, we've been to the yard so many times for turbo parts, it's kind of scary.

Depending on what turbo. Maybe on a really small turbo like a T25 but it wouldn't be able to do 20lbs on a big turbo like a 50trim or something.

By saying this do you mean the t25 or the 14b or 13t?

anyways my eclipse is a 2g so I had the t25 but now I have a holset h1c.

the t25 is like a hairdryer haha...it only flows like 27lb/min and starts pushing hot air around 15lbs.

Any DSM with a standard DSM flange. Even if you start with a small T25, it would be easy to swap to a 16g or some kind of DSM hybrid.

I've got a t25 on my 96lx and love it. It's great for daily driving.
